Vinli Launches at TechCrunch Disrupt

September 06, 2014

Vinli allows developers to build and deploy applications and services for your car.

Vinli, a connected car platform, launches its pre-sales campaign at TechCrunch Disrupt on September 8, 2014. Vinli was one of 30 startups chosen to participate in Startup Battlefield in San Francisco.

Vinli is a device that you plug into your car and comes with a suite of applications that you can download immediately to your smartphone. The apps can help you save money, keep your car and your family safe, and make driving more fun. All of the apps will available free for download for anyone who purchases Vinli during the pre-sales campaign.

Vinli is the first comprehensive connected car platform of its kind that focuses on the following three segments: the consumer, small to medium size enterprises and developers.

“The reason why we don’t see smarter cars is that every car manufacturer has its own closed system and the connected car applications and technologies in the market today are limited in functionality. Developers cannot develop a connected car application without considerable investment or partnership with a manufacturer or communications network, making it difficult for a new entrant with an innovative solution or service to gain mass-market adoption. Vinli is a game changer because we have created the first open-platform for developers that works on over 700 million vehicles around the world. It can make a car manufactured in 1996 smarter than a car manufactured in 2014,” said coFounder and CEO Mark Haidar. “Even our hardware is open. If you are an embedded engineer, you can create your own custom backpack.”

Vinli Basic starts at $49.99 for Bluetooth, but the device is customizable and extendible using Vinli’s patent-pending backpack technology. All the smart phone applications will be free for download for a limited time, including but not limited to, diagnostics, auditing driving habits, analytics, maintenance, GPS and infotainment. Vinli’s hardware is powered by its platform services and is open to developers and will include cloud-based services and functionalities that are abstracted through API’s and ready to use SDK’s which can be used to build applications and services for the car.

Vinli has also developed an application for small to medium sized enterprises that want to do fleet tracking and advanced telematics at an affordable price. Small to medium sized enterprises will now have the ability to have applications that fit their needs at a very affordable price of $149.99 per device per year, which includes unlimited access to all our platform services.

Vinli has partnered with Dragon Innovation and is Dragon Certified for manufacturing of the devices. Vinli is based in Dallas Texas and incubated by Dialexa Labs, a new startup incubator out of Dialexa.
